Updates at Lidder Care: Community Events, Fundraising Efforts and Residents Activities
This month at Lidder Care, we’ve been busy with exciting events in Mansfield and Kirkby-in-Ashfield and fundraising efforts to help to support our residents at Newgate Lodge Care Home and Lowmoor Nursing Home.
From our ongoing raffle for a signed Mansfield Town match ball to another successful Community Café at Newgate Lodge, we’re grateful for the community’s support. We’ve also received generous donations for our Tiny Tablet fundraiser and are thrilled to host our first-ever Quiz Night at Newgate Lodge.

This month, we’ve continued our exciting raffle of a signed, framed football from the Sky Bet League One Fixture on the 21st December from Mansfield Town vs Rotherham United. Don’t miss your chance to win – get your ticket today and help us make a meaningful difference to our residents’ lives!
This will help to support our fundraising efforts for two specialist dementia tables for residents at Newgate Lodge Care Home and Lowmoor Nursing Home.
Tickets are just £5 each, and every penny raised will go directly towards providing these interactive tables, designed to offer mental stimulation, engagement and therapeutic benefits. The signed, framed match ball is a fantastic prize for any football fan or makes a thoughtful gift for a loved one.
Bringing The Community Together at Our Newgate Community Café
We recently hosted another successful Community Café at Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield and it was wonderful to see the Mansfield community come together for an afternoon of conversation, games and fun. Everyone who attended had a fantastic time and it was heartwarming to see such great community spirit in our home.
Our Community Café in Mansfield is open to everyone, providing a welcoming and safe space to connect, receive support and enjoy time with others.
They take place on the third Thursday of every month, so we hope to see you and your loved ones at our next community cafe on Thursday 17th April, between 2PM and 4PM!
Generous Donations Boost Our Tiny Tablet Fundraiser
We are incredibly grateful for the amazing support we’ve recently received for our Tiny Tablet fundraiser!
A huge thank you to Ian and Carolyn for their incredibly generous £200 donation towards our goal of providing a specialist dementia table for our residents. Your support means the world to us.
We’d also like to say a massive thank you to the staff and children at Little Chiefs – Wiggles and Giggles Day Nursery for their fantastic fundraising efforts. They held a pyjama week and raised an impressive £254 – all of which has been donated to support our fundraiser.
Any contribution is greatly appreciated and will help improve the quality of life for our residents.

Red Nose Day at Lowmoor Nursing Home
Residents and staff at Lowmoor Nursing Home embraced the spirit of Red Nose Day, wearing their red noses and joining in the fun with plenty of laughter and smiles. The day was filled with joy and camaraderie, as everyone came together to support a great cause and share in the laughter.
A Donation For Our Residents
A talented young individual recently kindly created and donated a beautiful table for our residents at Newgate Lodge Care Home. The table has already become a popular spot, with residents enjoying their time sitting together and having a cup of tea.
Home Care Manager Engages With The Local Community
Our Home Care Manager, Adele has been out in Mansfield sharing information about our services and how Lidder Care can offer support. She visited the Mansfield Woodhouse Friday Club and Age UK Notts groups, helping to strengthen our ties and ensure we provide support where it’s needed most.
Attending The International Women’s Day Conference
Our team recently attended the Enterprising Women’s International Women’s Day Conference hosted by the East Midlands Chamber. The conference featured expert speakers and breakout sessions on goal setting and retirement planning, leaving the team feeling motivated and inspired.
Hosting Our First Ever Newgate Quiz Night
