Visit Our Residential Home

For those considering moving to our home, we encourage individuals to visit us and spend quality time in our home. We believe it is beneficial for potential residents to see whether our welcoming home is the right fit for you. This will also give you the opportunity to meet our friendly care and management teams.

When we welcome you into our home for a visit, our Home Manager Laura Quince will be available to discuss any personal preferences and care requirements. We feel it is important that any questions are answered and that residents and loved ones feel Newgate Lodge is the right fit for their needs.

Bring Your Home Comforts

We want our new residents’ stay at Newgate Lodge to be as homely and enjoyable as it can be and we welcome moving in with items that are of sentimental value. Personal belongings such as furniture, ornaments and photos of loved ones make a great addition to a new bedroom for a comforting home-from-home feel. This can make adapting to a new environment an easier process.

We offer beautiful, bespoke en-suite rooms that can be individually decorated and tailored to each residents personal liking. Our team are here to make your move as smooth as possible, helping to arrange and decorate your room to suit your preferences.

Staying Connected in Care

We understand the importance of family, friends and maintaining relationships in our residents’ lives. That is why we welcome visitors to our home every day of the week. We suggest informing loved ones of any changes to their circumstances, such as a new address or phone number, to help them stay in touch. We encourage our residents to maintain regular contact with family and friends, no matter where they are.

Keep Your Relatives Close

Maintaining strong relationships with loved ones is important to us and we encourage family to visit at any time with our daily open door policy. We want our residents and their families to continue doing the things you love. We encourage residents and loved ones to get involved in our daily activities, days out and joining in with mealtimes and special occasions. Additionally, our home has good bus, rail and road links which is great for visitors. Newgate Lodge is only a short journey to the scenic settings of Newstead Abbey and Sherwood Forest.

Reviews

  • "A clean and up to date environment, always very welcoming, someone always available if we need to talk. Both my mother-in-law and father-in-law live in Newgate Lodge. My mother-in-law is upstairs and my father-in-law is downstairs. Both have their needs met really well and the staff have genuine care and respect for them both."

  • "My grandma has been at Newgate Lodge for a few years. It does not feel like a care home. It feels like Grandma's home. The staff love and care for the residents and do everything they can to make their stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible. The residents are treated with dignity and care each and every day. The relatives are also made very welcome and we feel part of the family. I would have no hesitation in recommending Newgate Lodge Care Home."

  • "My husband and I have visited a resident since she arrived and have been very impressed by the care and support, she and other residents' receive. Although she is deaf and cannot speak she is never ignored and is included in things that can be difficult in her case. Residents seem relaxed and well cared for. It's like a big happy caring family. We have visited other care homes and this is certainly the best."

  • "My brother is very happy to live here. He is well cared for and gets on well with everyone including the staff. I find all the staff very caring and always willing to help. All the staff are always pleasant when I visit. Myself being a carer for 28 years I would highly recommend this care home to anyone needing care."

  • "We required urgent care for my father in law. I went to look around. The home was clean and beautifully presented. The member of staff who took all the details was kind, professional and understanding. My father in law arrived the following day. A carer immediately advised that the dementia unit would not be appropriate so he lives downstairs and only sleeps upstairs in the dementia unit. The home manager is excellent and supportive of the difficulties between my husband and his brother. We can visit when we wish. There has been a marked improvement in improvement in both my father in law's physical and mental health."
