Social Activities At Newgate Lodge

Providing A Happy Environment

Combatting Loneliness For The Elderly

We recognise the importance of socialising and spending time with others. We therefore put a big emphasis on social activities at Newgate Lodge. We aim to make residents feel both looked after and comfortable in their new homes, but also to aid the building of new relationships that last with those around them. It is for this reason that each and every member of our staff gets to know the real person in our care, including their life stories and their interests. Our residents are encouraged to participate in social and therapeutic activities both as a group or as an individual and we have a visiting pat dog.

We are extremely passionate about providing a fulfilling life for our residents. The care home encourages an atmosphere of fun and inclusion, with our staff being selected with high consideration as to their personality and compassion, and encouraged to build relationships with each resident.

Whilst we encourage relationships to build between our residents, we also help to maintain their pre-existing relationships with those already in their lives, welcoming visitors every day of the week.

Our Activities Co-ordinator helps every individual to maintain their hobbies and interests with individual and group activity sessions. This is further supported by our communal home environment with many areas supporting the growth of friendships between residents. This includes our four dining rooms, conservatory lounge, garden courtyard, reminiscence lounge, resident-run tuck shop and a multi-faith room.
