Newgate Lodge Care Home
Lidder Care, Nottinghamshire
Residential care home
At Newgate Lodge Care Home we are extremely passionate about providing a fulfilling life for our residents. The home encourages an atmosphere of fun and inclusion and with our two dedicated full-time Activities Co-ordinators, we are able to provide a great range of stimulating, person centred activities to encourage our elderly residents to socialise. We believe it is very important for our residents to both maintain existing hobbies and interests as well as expand their skills and hobbies further during their stay with us.
Every resident fills out a “this is me” booklet, ensuring we take a holistic, individual approach, tailoring all events to match the individual needs of each resident. This allows our teams to consider all residents during the planning of activities and tailor plans towards the interests of the home.
At Newgate Lodge Care Home, we have an activities room for our where residents can enjoy a multitude of stimulating age-related activities. Our home also facilitates a hairdressing salon and a multi-faith lounge which are hosted regularly by professionals. Furthermore, we have an on-site, resident run tuck shop and garden area providing multiple areas for our residents to enjoy. We encourage our residents to have one-to-one chats with our lifestyle lead, ensuring that everybody makes the most of all our activities on offer.
Residents will have the opportunity to enjoy a range of activities, such as arts and crafts, gardening, baking, themed evenings, music and trips out into the community of which participation and accompaniment by relatives is strongly encouraged. Outings include visits to the theatre, garden centres, the coast, shopping trips, boat trips, dining out etc. Activity Specialists ‘Lost Chord’ provide Newgate Lodge Care Home with regular entertainers such as vocalists and classical musicians, we have dancers and even a mobile zoo. We are also privileged to be visited by establishments such as the local police and the British legion.
