Nursing Care Nottinghamshire

Lowmoor Nursing Home sits on Low Moor Road in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, a few minutes from the A38 and well served by bus and rail links into Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and the wider Ashfield district. Families across North Nottinghamshire choose Lowmoor because it is a purpose-built 48-bed nursing home, not a converted house adapted to cope, and every bed is staffed by Registered General Nurses and Registered Mental Health Nurses around the clock.

Nursing Care For The Elderly

What nursing care at Lowmoor actually looks like

Lowmoor is split across separate all-male and mixed-gender floors, designed for residents with complex physical needs, reduced mobility, or advanced dementia who need clinical nursing support rather than personal care alone. Each floor has its own team structure, led by a Clinical Lead Nurse who reports into our Registered Manager and Deputy Manager.

Dr Lidder leads the clinical standards across the home. He previously worked as a Consultant Psychiatrist within the NHS’s Mental Health Services for Older People at Kings Mill Hospital, and that clinical background shapes how we manage residents with the most complex nursing and mental health needs, not just how we market the home.

Who this is for?

Nursing care at Lowmoor Nursing Home is right for residents who need more than residential support: ongoing clinical monitoring, complex medication regimes, catheter or PEG feeding care, palliative support, or nursing-level dementia care as needs progress.

If your loved one is still largely independent, our Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield may be the better starting point, and our team will tell you honestly which home fits.
