Our 5* Catering Team pride themselves on making mealtimes a special part of each day. All meals are homemade and cooked fresh on-site using fresh ingredients locally sourced by small businesses with the emphasis on providing delicious seasonal meals.

Collaborating closely with our visiting nutritionists and dieticians, we cater for a variety of special diets, such as diabetic, coeliac, kidney disease, and dairy/ glucose intolerance. Our Catering Manager ensures that each person satisfies their dietary needs and nutritional requirements.

In the event of a person experiencing swallowing difficulties, we request referral to the Speech and Language Therapy Team based at Kings Mill Hospital. Specialists will then assess the individual’s safety in swallowing and give advice for continued nutrition and hydration.

Mealtimes are about enjoying a social occasion as much as being nutritionally balanced. Our dining areas, therefore, are very thoughtfully designed to create such protected, quiet times and to promote a dignified, relaxed and happy atmosphere. Each dining area has a ‘menu board’ displaying daily menu choices. Residents can also utilise The Miners Arms pub where they can enjoy dining and a glass of wine.

Mealtimes are a fundamental part of a resident’s care, our staff sit with our residents at mealtimes and enjoy eating together. Loved ones are also welcomed to book in to dine with residents.
