Newgate Community Cafe Update
Last month, we were delighted to host our much-loved Community Café at Newgate Lodge Care Home. It was wonderful to welcome both familiar faces and new visitors for a buzzing afternoon filled with warm conversation, laughter, and community spirit.
We’re now looking ahead to next month’s Community Café, which will take place on Thursday 21st August, from 2pm to 4pm. This will sadly be our final Community Café of the year, but don’t worry, we’ll be bringing it back in the new year, so keep an eye out for updates!
We hope to see you there for one last cup of tea and community catch-up in 2025!

Mental Health First Aider Training Complete
Last month, nine members of the Lidder Care team successfully completed their Mental Health First Aider (MHFAider) training and are now fully qualified to offer support across our services.
With trained MHFAiders now in place, we’re proud to provide a confidential support network for staff, residents, and families – helping to promote a safe, open, and supportive environment for everyone.

Taking On 10KM Tough Mudder
The Lidder Care team tackled the 15KM Tough Mudder UK challenge – all to raise vital funds for specialist dementia tables for our residents. From climbing walls and crawling through mud to swimming through ice water and even getting electrocuted! – it was a true test of teamwork, determination and grit.
If you’re able to support us, donations can still be made via our fundraiser: donate by clicking on this link!
