Lidder Care Invests in New Minibus to Support Resident Activities and Community Connections
Lidder Care is delighted to announce the arrival of a brand-new minibus, which will be shared across all its services including Newgate Lodge Care Home, Lowmoor Nursing Home and Home Care.
The new vehicle has been introduced to help residents and clients enjoy even greater opportunities to stay active and remain connected and involved with the local community.
The minibus will allow residents from both care homes and our home care clients to enjoy day trips, community activities, events, shopping visits and social outings, including opportunities to travel further afield, helping to support independence, wellbeing and meaningful experiences outside of the home environment.
The new minibus will also provide residents and clients with easier and more accessible transport to appointments, family gatherings, special occasions and community events.
For clients of our Home Care service, the vehicle will also create more opportunities to take part in community-based activities and outings, supporting social interaction and reducing feelings of isolation.
Designed with comfort and accessibility in mind, the minibus provides a safer and more convenient way for residents and clients with varying mobility needs to travel comfortably and confidently.
The minibus has been specially designed with space for multiple wheelchairs, whilst also allowing room for care teams, activities coordinators and responsible persons to comfortably accompany residents and clients on outings and trips.
The investment reflects Lidder Care’s ongoing commitment to providing person-centred care and activities and enriching the lives of residents and clients through meaningful activities and community engagement.
The new minibus has already made a fantastic start, with residents from Newgate Lodge Care Home enjoying its inaugural outing on a visit to Titchfield Park. Taking advantage of the warm summer weather, residents enjoyed a leisurely walk through the park before sharing a picnic lunch together.
The afternoon continued with time spent relaxing in the shade, watching a game of boules, enjoying ice creams and reminiscing over fond memories. The outing marked the beginning of what promises to be many enjoyable and meaningful experiences made possible through this exciting new addition to Lidder Care.
With the new minibus now in use, teams across Newgate Lodge, Lowmoor Nursing Home and Lidder Care are looking forward to planning even more exciting outings and adventures in the months ahead.
