Introducing Lidder Care Values: Diversity
Diversity: Celebrating What Makes Us Different
At Lidder Care, we understand that diversity makes our community stronger. Every resident, client and team member brings their own background, experiences, beliefs and perspectives, and we are committed to creating an environment where these are understood and respected.
Across our care homes and home care service in Mansfield and Ashfield, we embrace diversity to ensure everyone feels welcomed, respected and included.
One way we celebrate diversity across Lidder Care is through International Weeks in our care homes. Residents have the opportunity to explore different countries and cultures through food, music, activities and events, encouraging people to share experiences, celebrate different celebrations and cultures.

Culturally-Aware Care
Understanding each individual includes recognising the cultural, religious and personal beliefs that are important to them.
Our care plans reflect these individual needs and preferences, from dietary requirements and religious practices to traditions, routines and important occasions. By taking the time to understand each person, our teams can provide person-centred care that respects their identity, beliefs and individual preferences.
Whether someone is receiving residential, nursing or home care, understanding what is important to each person helps us provide care and support that reflects who they are as an individual.

Inclusive Workplaces
Our diverse team brings together people with different backgrounds, experiences, skills and perspectives.
We aim to create a respectful working environment where every colleague feels valued and confident contributing their ideas. Team members are supported through training and development opportunities, while open communication allows us to learn from one another and continually strengthen the residential, nursing and home care offering across Nottinghamshire.

Cultural Celebrations
Celebrating different cultures and traditions provides opportunities to bring people together, learn and create meaningful experiences.
Across our care homes in Mansfield and Ashfield, our activities teams recognise the importance of cultural and religious occasions throughout the year.
These weeks can help residents reconnect with places and cultures that hold personal memories, while also introducing new experiences to others. From trying traditional dishes to learning about different customs and traditions, they provide an enjoyable way to experience and celebrate cultures from around the world.
Celebrating these occasions forms part of our person-centred approach to activities, creating opportunities that reflect the interests, experiences and backgrounds of the people living in our care homes.

Feedback Culture
Listening to different perspectives helps us learn, develop and improve.
We encourage residents, home care clients, families and colleagues to share their experiences, ideas and feedback with us. These views help us understand what we are doing well and identify where we can make positive changes across our care homes and home care service.

Embracing Difference
We see diversity as a strength and recognise the value that different experiences, ideas and perspectives bring to Lidder Care.
By remaining open to new ideas and learning from residents, clients, families and colleagues, we can continue to develop the way we work while creating an environment where everyone feels respected and included.

For us, Diversity means not only listening to different perspectives but understanding them. Across our residential, nursing and home care services in Mansfield and Ashfield, we aim to create an inclusive community where everyone is welcomed, respected and valued for who they are.
