Enriching: Making Every Day Meaningful

At Lidder Care, providing outstanding care is about more than meeting day-to-day needs. We want our residents and clients to continue enjoying meaningful experiences, pursuing their interests, building relationships and remaining connected with the community around them.

A recent example of enrichment is the introduction of our new accessible minibus, which is shared across the Lidder Care Group and has enabled more residents and clients to enjoy days out and remain connected with the places and communities around them.

Tailored Activities

Meaningful activities begin with understanding the individual. Our dedicated activities teams take time to learn about residents’ experiences, hobbies and interests so that activities can reflect what genuinely matters to them.

Our activity programmes offer a wide variety of experiences, while remaining flexible around individual preferences. From one-to-one activities to days out in our new accessible minibus, we aim to provide opportunities that residents enjoy and look forward to.

Through our home care service in Mansfield and Ashfield, we also support clients to continue their hobbies and social activities, attend appointments and events, or simply support them to continue being a valued member of their local community.

Creative Expression

Creativity provides an important opportunity for individuals receiving care to express themselves.

Residents are given the opportunity to take part in activities including arts and crafts, armchair exercises, live entertainment, gardening and much more. These experiences provide meaningful ways for residents to express their personality and creativity, whilst encouraging social interaction and engagement with others.

Wellbeing Routines

Supporting the physical, mental and emotional health of those in our care can be strengthened through familiar routines, giving residents and clients a sense of stability, purpose and reassurance in their everyday lives.

Across our residential, nursing and home care services, we incorporate stimulating activities into everyday life. These activities help residents and clients remain engaged and active while supporting confidence, independence and overall wellbeing.

By understanding each person’s existing routines, interests and abilities, our teams can provide person-centred care that supports both wellbeing and individuality.

Community Connection

Remaining connected with others and the wider community is an important part of an enriching life. Across Lidder Care, we create opportunities to bring our residents, home care clients, families and local communities together.

Our annual Summer Fayres at Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield and Lowmoor Nursing Home in Kirkby-in-Ashfield welcome families, friends and members of the community into our homes for entertainment, activities and an opportunity to spend meaningful time together.

At Lowmoor, our dedicated Blue Light Breakfast welcomes local Blue Light Card holders, including members of the emergency services, helping to strengthen connections between our nursing home and the wider Ashfield community.

Community connection extends to our Home Care service too, where they support people across Mansfield and Ashfield to remain connected with their local communities, including visiting local places and attending community events.

Celebrating Life

Every person we support has their own experiences, achievements, memories and milestones that deserve to be recognised. From birthdays and anniversaries to seasonal celebrations, we create opportunities to celebrate the moments that matter to each individual.

For us, Enriching means creating opportunities for people to enjoy life, experience new things and continue doing what matters to them. By supporting interests, wellbeing, relationships and community connections, we aim to make every day as fulfilling and meaningful as possible across our residential, nursing and home care services.
