Introducing Lidder Care Values: Respect
Respect: Valuing Every Individual
At Lidder Care, respect is at the heart of everything we do. We recognise the importance of treating every individual with dignity, respect and care.
One way we put this into practice is through regular resident meetings within our care homes. This gives residents the opportunity to share their views, make suggestions and have a say in the day-to-day life of their home.
By listening and responding to what residents tell us, we can ensure their voices continue to influence the care, activities and experiences we provide.

Listening Culture
Our teams take the time to acknowledge the views, concerns and preferences of residents and clients, ensuring they have a regular voice in the care and support they receive.
This can happen through everyday conversations, care reviews, resident meetings and feedback from families. By actively listening, we can better understand what matters to each individual and continually adapt our person-centred care and support around their needs and preferences.

Respecting Choices
We ensure each individual is given the opportunity to make choices about their care, lifestyle and everyday routines where possible.
From deciding what to eat and how to spend their day to discussing their care preferences, our role is to listen to these decisions and provide care that reflects them where possible.
Across our residential, nursing and home care services, respecting these choices helps individuals retain control over their everyday lives and ensures their personal preferences remain at the centre of their care.

Professional Conduct
Our teams demonstrate honesty, compassion and professionalism in every aspect of their role. This includes maintaining confidentiality, communicating appropriately and treating residents, clients, loved ones and colleagues with consideration, care and respect.
Whether providing residential care, nursing care or support in someone’s own home, we conduct the same high standards of professionalism and care.
Supporting Independence
Providing care does not mean taking away someone’s independence; it means supporting it. We look for opportunities to aid residents and clients to continue doing the things they can and want to do for themselves.
This could mean supporting a resident to remain involved in everyday tasks, encouraging them to pursue their interests or helping a home care client in Mansfield or Ashfield continue accessing their local community.
By providing the right level of support rather than taking over, our teams help residents and clients maintain their independence, confidence and sense of self.

Mutual Respect
Positive relationships are built through open and considerate communication. Across Lidder Care, we encourage residents, clients, families and colleagues to communicate openly and respectfully with one another.
By working together, sharing feedback and recognising different perspectives, we can build trusted relationships and create a positive environment for everyone across our care homes and home care service.
For us, Respect means listening, valuing individual choices and treating every person with the consideration they deserve. By embedding respect into our everyday interactions, we can build trusting relationships and provide person-centred residential, nursing and home care across Mansfield and Ashfield where every individual feels heard and valued.
