2025 has been an inspiring year for Lidder Care, with our teams at Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield, Lowmoor Nursing Home in Kirkby in Ashfield and Lidder Home Care delivering compassionate, community-focused care across Nottinghamshire.
From our new home care service in Mansfield to dementia-friendly activities enjoyed by residents at our care homes in Mansfield, this year has reinforced our commitment to high-quality, person-centred support for our residents and clients.

Celebrating Community Events Across Mansfield
Home Care Launch in Mansfield
One of the biggest highlights of 2025 was the official launch of Lidder Home Care, our new home care service in Mansfield and Ashfield. With care services supporting older adults across Mansfield, Mansfield Woodhouse, Pleasley, Forest Town, Ashfield and the surrounding areas. These new home care services will ensure people continue ageing well in Mansfield.
The launch event, which took place at the Lidder Care head office in Mansfield Town Centre, brought together local care professionals, local councillors, Mansfield MP, Steve Yemm MP, people in the Mansfield community and community partners. Our launch event which was visited by Mansfield 103.2FM with a ribbon cutting by Steve Yemm MP was a great chance for attendees to learn more about how our home care team will help people stay independent, safe and connected in the comfort of their own homes.
Tiny Tablet Fundraising
This year, Lidder Care has focused on raising funds for two specialist Tiny Tablet dementia activity tables to support residents at Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield and Lowmoor Nursing Home. These touchscreen tables provide vital stimulation and social engagement, especially for people living with dementia. Our aim is to expand the benefits of this technology to our residents.
Expansion of Lidder Home Care
Lidder Home Care has continued its expansion across Mansfield and Ashfield and we are now delivering care to individuals in people’s homes with a growing number of personalised care packages in Nottinghamshire, supporting families across areas such as Mansfield Woodhouse, Forest Town and Sutton-in-Ashfield.
We’ve also begun advertising locally, so keep an eye out for our billboards in Mansfield and Ashfield, promoting our compassionate care services in Mansfield. Our home care team has been out meeting the local community, handing out magazines and flyers to individuals across Mansfield and Ashfield to raise awareness of our local care and the support we provide.
We now offer a wide range of dignified, compassionate care services in Mansfield, including companionship care, personal care, meal preparation, visiting care, live-in care, respite care, medication assistance and more. Developments at Newgate Lodge Care Home
In 2025, Newgate Lodge Care Home has significantly increased its community engagement, most notably launching a regular Community Café. This welcoming initiative gives residents, families and local visitors a warm space to socialise over tea, coffee and cake. This helped to combat isolation and strengthen connections with the wider Mansfield community.
This welcoming space has also helped raise awareness of the services available at Newgate Lodge in the Mansfield care community.
Newgate Lodge also welcomed Steve Yemm MP and members of The King’s Trust for an activity-filled afternoon designed to encourage intergenerational connection. Residents enjoyed outdoor games, social interaction and creative activities led by young volunteers, showcasing the home’s dedication to meaningful engagement for our residents.
The visit also allowed Steve Yemm to meet residents and staff and see first-hand the home’s compassionate care and warm, person-centred approach, reinforcing Newgate Lodge’s role within the wider Mansfield care community.
Earlier in the summer, Newgate Lodge hosted its annual Summer Fayre, “LodgeFest”, bringing together residents, families and the local community for a day of fun, live music, games and stalls.
The event reinforced the home’s commitment to community-focused care in Mansfield and demonstrated how Mansfield care homes can provide opportunities for social engagement, family involvement, and meaningful connection with local organisations.
Life at Lowmoor Nursing Home
In 2025, Lowmoor Nursing Home continued to provide high-quality, specialist nursing care in Kirkby in Ashfield. The home offers 24-hour nursing support, dementia care and tailored services for people with complex care needs, ensuring residents receive the personalised attention they require.
The Lifestyle & Wellbeing team maintained a varied activities schedule throughout the year, including arts and crafts, chair-based exercises, baking, games, music sessions, sensory-time, garden activities and outdoor social events. These sessions provide both cognitive stimulation and social interaction, highlighting the home’s commitment to compassionate nursing care and elderly care in Nottinghamshire.
Lowmoor also hosted a Blue Light Breakfast, welcoming local police, fire and rescue teams and ambulance personnel to enjoy refreshments and community connection with residents and staff. The event celebrated the work of emergency services by rewarding them with a breakfast to fuel them through the day. Initiatives like the Blue Light Breakfast reflect the home’s dedication to community care in Ashfield and the broader Mansfield and Nottinghamshire care community.
The home actively participated in Lidder Care’s fundraising campaign to purchase specialist dementia-activity tables. Residents, staff and families took part in fundraising walks, charity events and awareness activities. These combined efforts reflect Lowmoor’s ongoing commitment to providing dignified, person-centred care in Mansfield and Ashfield, ensuring residents enjoy social engagement, stimulation, and a strong sense of community.
