Celebrating Care Home Open Week at Newgate Lodge
In June, we proudly opened our doors for Care Home Open Week – a fantastic opportunity to showcase our activities, facilities, and dedicated care team.
Throughout the week, we enjoyed a range of events including a lovely visit from Wiggles & Giggles Nursery, a warm welcome from Oaklands in Warsop for their Ascot Day, a pet therapy visit from Vets for Pets, and a trip to Mansfield Library for a film screening. We rounded off the week with another successful Community Café, complete with live entertainment from LPP Entertainment.

Community Cafe Highlights!
Last month, we welcomed friends old and new for our June edition of the Community Café. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with great conversation, warm smiles and community!
Thank you to everyone who joined us — we loved having you with us! It was a wonderful opportunity to come together and enjoy the sunshine, fantastic live entertainment, refreshing cold drinks, and delicious homemade cakes and snacks, all complimentary for our lovely guests.

Afternoon Entertainment at Lowmoor
Residents and staff had a fantastic afternoon enjoying live entertainment from Lewis Goddard, also known as “Elvis of the younger years.” His classic hits and lively performance had everyone singing along and smiling throughout the day.

Cycle 77 Challenge Complete!
Our amazing team at Newgate Lodge Care Home, residents and special guests and visitors took on the Cycle 77 Challenge – cycling 77 miles on an exercise bike, the distance from Newgate lodge to Skegness!
This was all to raise funds for specialist dementia tables for our residents. A huge well done to all the staff and volunteers who helped us hit our target – with even our very own resident Ken getting involved! Together, we raised £100!

Volunteers’ Week Spotlight!
In June, we celebrated Volunteers’ Week, where we were delighted to highlight Esther and Patrycja, two amazing work experience students who recently joined us at Newgate Lodge Care Home.
Both have quickly become valued members of our team, bringing energy, kindness, and a genuine passion for supporting our residents. We are grateful for their contribution and proud to support their learning and development in the care sector.

Nearing Our Fundraising Goal
Over the last few months, the Lidder Care team has been fundraising for our residents. We’re nearly at our target, but there’s still time to help us get there. A huge thank you to Sandy and Clive Joll for their incredibly generous £100 donation towards our fundraiser for specialist dementia tables for our residents. Your kindness and support will make a real difference!
