Introducing Lidder Care Values: Individuality
Individuality: Celebrating Every Person Across Lidder Care
At Lidder Care, we understand that no two individuals are the same. Everyone has their own life story, routines, interests, relationships and preferences, and we believe these should continue to be respected and celebrated when someone receives care.
Individuality begins from the moment someone joins Lidder Care. Through personalised care planning and tools such as our ‘This Is Me’ form, we learn about each person’s life story, routines, interests and preferences, helping our teams provide care shaped around the individual rather than simply their care needs.
Getting to know each individual is central to providing truly person-centred care. Across our residential care, nursing care and home care services in Mansfield and Ashfield, we look to understand the person, what matters to them and how they want to live their life.

Celebrating Individuality
We take the time to learn about each person’s story, preferences and personal choices, ensuring these are reflected in the care and support they receive.
In our care homes, this can include everything from favourite meals and preferred daily routines to hobbies, interests and activities. Through our Home Care service, our care team work around the routines and preferences of each client, supporting them to continue living life independently and in the comfort of their own home across Mansfield and Ashfield.

Inclusive Environments
We aim to create an inclusive environment that respects individual backgrounds, identities, cultures and belief systems. Our teams take the time to understand what is important to each individual and ensure their personal values and beliefs are respected throughout the care they receive.
Whether someone receives residential care at Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield, nursing care at Lowmoor Nursing Home in Kirkby-in-Ashfield or support through our local Home Care service, we want every individual to feel welcomed, understood and respected.

Tailored Care Approaches
Individual care plans are developed around each person’s physical, emotional and social needs and are regularly reviewed and updated. The Lidder Care approach is shaped around each individual.
This personalised approach is central to the person-centred care we provide across our Nottinghamshire care services, ensuring support can adapt as an individual’s needs and preferences change.

Empowering Individuals
Receiving care should never mean losing control over your own life. We encourage those in our care to make their own choices and remain as independent as possible.
This could mean choosing how to spend their day, deciding which activities they would like to take part in, maintaining existing routines or being supported to continue as an important part of the local community. Our role is to provide the right level of support to ensure each person’s voice remains at the centre of the decisions about their life and care.

Relationship-Centred Care
Understanding someone’s individuality starts with building relationships.
Our teams take time to get to know each person beyond their care needs. Our ‘This Is Me’ form helps us capture important details about an individual’s life story, family, interests, routines, preferences and what matters most to them, giving our teams a deeper understanding of the person they are supporting.
Alongside input from loved ones, this helps us build meaningful connections and provide care where every individual feels known, valued and understood. For us, Individuality means seeing the person first. By understanding what makes each individual unique, we can provide care that respects their choices, promotes their independence and enables them to continue living life in a way that is meaningful to them.

As a family-run care provider serving Mansfield, Ashfield and the surrounding Nottinghamshire communities, this individualised approach remains at the heart of the residential, nursing and home care we provide.
