Lidder Care Undergoes Digital Transformation

 In Blog, Moving into Care

Lidder Care is delighted to announce that we have teamed up with digital software provider Nourish to introduce digital care plans into our homes. We have recently undergone a digital transformation across both Newgate Lodge Care Home and Lowmoor Nursing Home.

We have seen significant improvements compared to the paper-based system. Care teams can access care plans instantly, enabling them to share information quickly with other healthcare professionals in surgeries and hospitals, as well as with family members who hold power of attorney for wellbeing. taking the next steps towards an exciting and effective digital care future.

Nourish is helping us to transform care here at Lidder Care. As a part of this transformation, our care team will now carry Lidder Care customised mobile phones. These handheld devices will be easily identifiable by their yellow cases and Lidder Care logo, each device having its own unique device number. These devices will help to streamline the documentation of resident care throughout the day.

The switch to digitalisation will assist in reducing the amount of time spent doing administrative tasks, allowing for more time on developing, improving and providing person-centred, compassionate care to our residents.

The system will enable carers to plan and record care for all residents. Nourish is designed to support care providers in delivering and documenting high quality, organised care and support. Care plans can be created, tracked and managed easily through Nourish. Any changes required in an individual’s care plan can be easily updated and reviewed using the Nourish app, eliminating the stress and inefficiency that comes with paperwork and documentation.

The digital transformation will improve the communication and collaboration between our carers, with information now seamlessly being shared across a single network. Digitalisation will keep residents and loved ones at the forefront of the care they receive, easily adapting and reviewing care plans as their needs develop.

Alongside the Nourish care plan software, an e-reception has also been implemented in our homes to document the signing in and out process for residents and visitors. This will also help us to obtain real-time feedback from visitors, along with functional benefits such as tracking who is in and out of the building for accurate fire assessments.

Introduction of these digital improvements will provide a streamlined approach to documenting any incidents that occur. A great feature of this device is its incident reporting capabilities – allowing for these to be dealt with and recorded safely and with accountability.

Undergoing this exciting digital transformation in our care group will enhance the overall care experience of our residents. By utilising technology in care, our care team will have more time to deliver person-centred, quality care. This will allow our carers to learn more and build lasting connections with residents as well as providing quality care. Our activities lifestyle team will continue to provide a variety of person-centred activities, ensuring residents continue to take part in their hobbies and interests.

By reducing the time spent on administrative duties, both management and care teams will have more opportunities to enrich their own care knowledge, develop their skills and continue providing compassionate, outstanding care. This will also enable our homes to effectively monitor individual care needs, using data from Nourish to improve and change care plans where appropriate.

Lidder Care will continue to develop digital aspects of care that improve the efficiency and allow the care provided to be of the highest standard. Contact us today if you or a loved one is interested in discovering more about life in a Lidder Care home
