Connecting Communities: Recent Events and Achievements at Lidder Care
As we kick off the year, we’ve been busy hosting events that celebrate togetherness, innovation and well-being. From the heartwarming launch of the Newgate Community Café to an interactive Tiny Tablet Taster Session for our residents at Lowmoor Nursing Home and Newgate Lodge Care Home, there’s been no shortage of exciting activities.
We also celebrated a special milestone with Rita’s retirement from Newgate Lodge, embraced a new challenge by signing up for the Tough Mudder Challenge and enjoyed a lively Padel Event with our partners at Mansfield Town.
Newgate Lodge host first Newgate Community Cafe
Newgate Lodge Care Home is delighted to announce the launch of its brand-new Community Café, a welcoming space designed to bring together older adults, families and caregivers.
The café will provide a warm and friendly environment where visitors can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and cake, the opportunity to build new connections, make new friendships and engage with the local community.
The Community Café will be held every third Thursday of the month, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM with the next session taking place on Thursday 20th March at Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield.
Tiny Tablet Taster Session
Both Newgate Lodge Care Home and Lowmoor Nursing Home had the pleasure of hosting a tester weekend with the Tiny Tablet sensory tables. Our homes are actively fundraising to purchase these dementia-friendly tables, which our residents found engaging, entertaining and truly enjoyable.

Happy Retirement Rita
After 17 incredible years, Rita has chosen to retire. She began her journey with Newgate Lodge in 2007 and has been a true inspiration, providing endless love and care to residents.
Rita has been a fantastic mentor, supporting new team members as they start their careers in the health and care sector. Her kindness, experience, and wisdom will be greatly missed!
Lidder Care to take on Tough Mudder Challenge
The Lidder Care team are taking on the Tough Mudder 15KM challenge to raise funds for Specialist Dementia Tables at Lowmoor Nursing Home and Newgate Lodge Care Home! These interactive tables provide sensory stimulation and social engagement for residents.
We’re aiming to raise £5,000 to help purchase two Dementia Tables for our care homes, enhancing the lives of our residents.

Padel Event with Mansfield Town Partners
Our Design Lead, Eleanor and Marketing Executive, Harry took part in the Mansfield Town Football Club Partners Padel Tournament hosted by World Padel Academy – UK!
It was a fantastic day filled with great memories and collaboration alongside other local partners. We were thrilled to make it through the group stage and into the knockout rounds, where we exited to a tough opponent in Sauce & Brown.
