Introducing Lidder Care Values: Leadership
Leadership: Leading By Example Across Lidder Care
At Lidder Care, leadership is about more than managing a team. It is about setting the right example, supporting others and creating an environment where residents, clients, families and colleagues feel valued, listened to and confident in the care we provide.
Our experienced management teams are central to strong leadership across Lidder Care. Newgate Lodge Home Manager Lee Swinn brings over 20 years of care experience, while Lowmoor Home Manager Chris Morrisson is a Registered Nurse with extensive experience in nursing care. Our Home Care Manager, Adele McGregor, leads our team in delivering high-quality, person-centred care across Mansfield and Ashfield.
As a family-run care provider supporting people across Mansfield and Ashfield, strong leadership helps us continually develop our residential care, nursing care and home care offering in Mansfield whilst maintaining a consistent focus on the individuals we support.
Leading By Example
Our management teams lead with integrity, accountability and compassion, setting the standard for the care we provide across the Lidder Care Group.
This can be seen every day across our services. Whether supporting residents at Newgate Lodge Care Home in Mansfield, delivering nursing care at Lowmoor Nursing Home in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, or helping clients remain independent through our Home Care service across Mansfield and Ashfield, our teams work together to ensure the people we support remain at the heart of everything we do.
One example of leading by example is the continued development of Newgate Lodge, where our investment in the home has expanded its facilities and created additional spaces designed around residents’ comfort, wellbeing and independence.

Open Communication
Strong leadership means listening as well as leading. We encourage open and honest communication between our teams, residents, home care clients and their loved ones.
Residents, clients and families are involved in care planning and everyday decisions wherever possible. By listening to individual preferences, responding to feedback and keeping people informed, we can build trust and ensure the person-centred care we provide across Mansfield and Ashfield continues to reflect the needs of each individual.
This is put into practice through regular care reviews and everyday conversations with residents, clients and their loved ones, giving those receiving care an opportunity to influence how their support is provided.

Empowering Teams
We believe that investing in our people directly benefits the people we care for. Staff development, training and progression are an integral part of our approach across the Group.
We support colleagues to develop their knowledge, gain qualifications and progress within their careers, helping to build confident, skilled and highly trained teams who share a vision for providing outstanding, person-centred care.
Investing in our care teams helps us maintain high standards across our residential care, nursing care and home care services.

Recognition and Gratitude
Recognising the achievements of our staff and residents is an important part of creating a positive culture across the group.
We regularly celebrate the milestones and achievements of both our teams and the people we support. From professional qualifications and career progression to birthdays, personal achievements and special occasions, we believe these moments deserve to be recognised and celebrated.
This includes recognising colleagues as they develop professionally and celebrating the contribution of teams across Newgate Lodge, Lowmoor Nursing Home and our Home Care service, helping create a culture where achievements and progression are valued.

Care Innovation
Leadership means continually looking for ways to improve and progress. Across Lidder Care, we embrace modern care tools, evidence-based practices and new ideas that can enhance the quality and standard of care and the experience provided.
This includes investing in new technology and equipment, developing our activities and wellbeing programmes, and finding new ways to help residents and home care clients remain active, independent and connected with their communities.
A recent example is our investment in a new accessible minibus for the Lidder Care Group. Shared across our services, the minibus has increased opportunities for residents and clients to enjoy days out, activities and meaningful experiences while remaining connected with their local community.

For us, Leadership means setting the right example, empowering others and continually striving to provide the highest standard of care for the people and communities we serve. Through strong leadership and continued investment in our people and services, we aim to remain a trusted provider of residential, nursing and home care for individuals and families across Mansfield and Ashfield.
