Newgate Quiz Night Success

Last month, we hosted our very first Newgate Quiz Night – and what a fantastic evening it turned out to be!

Nearly 30 guests joined us for a night filled with fun, laughter and some healthy competition. Thanks to everyone’s incredible generosity, we raised an amazing £148.90 towards our fundraiser for specialist dementia tables!

It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome the Mansfield community into our home, and it was heartwarming to see so many people enjoying themselves. We’re so proud of the evening’s success and truly grateful to everyone who came along and made it such a memorable night.

Residents Enjoy a Matchday To Remember

Recently, three of our residents – two from Newgate Lodge Care Home and one from Lowmoor Nursing Home – enjoyed a brilliant day out at Mansfield Town Football Club, cheering on their beloved Stags at the One Call Stadium.

For our Newgate residents, the result may not have gone our way (a 5–1 loss to Reading), but the excitement of experiencing live football again made the day incredibly special.

Meanwhile, our resident from Lowmoor Nursing Home had the pleasure of attending the final home fixture of the season, witnessing a fantastic 3–0 victory over Exeter City!

Mansfield MP and The King’s Trust Visit Newgate Lodge

We were delighted to welcome Mansfield MP, Steve Yemm, to Newgate Lodge Care Home as he joined us to observe a special visit from The King’s Trust.

The attendees from The King’s Trust organised a fantastic selection of garden activities for our residents, which everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The outdoor games, enjoyed in the beautiful sunny weather, were a big hit with our residents and made for a wonderful afternoon of creativity, connection and fun.

It was a pleasure to welcome Steve Yemm MP, who took the time to speak with our residents, as well as members of our care and activities teams and The King’s Trust visitors, showing a sincere interest in the value of community partnerships and meaningful engagement in care settings.

Easter Fun at Lowmoor

Our residents at Lowmoor Nursing Home had a wonderful Easter weekend filled with joy and laughter! They got creative making beautiful Easter bonnets, sang and danced together at our lively Easter party with a live singer and even went on a fun Easter egg hunt around the home.

Animal Therapy

This month at Newgate Lodge, we welcomed the Vets for Pets team, who brought along some amazing animals for our residents to meet! From snakes and rabbits to adorable therapy dogs, our residents loved it!

Out In The Sun

Residents at Lowmoor Nursing Home have been making the most of the beautiful sunny weather by spending time in the garden. With cool drinks in hand and plenty of good conversation, they enjoyed each other’s company in the fresh air and sunshine.

Lidder Care Team Joins Mansfield Forward Bid’s Day of Action

The Lidder Care team proudly took part in the Mansfield Forward BID Day of Action 2025 – a fantastic community initiative focused on cleaning and tidying up Mansfield Town Centre.

This amazing community initiative, aimed at cleaning up and tidying Mansfield Town Centre, brought together members of the local Mansfield community, businesses in Mansfield and local organisations.

From painting and weeding to cleaning and tidying, everyone worked together to refresh and enhance the heart of our town centre.

Community Cafe Continues To Bring People Together

Last week we hosted our third monthly Community Café at Newgate Lodge Care Home and what a great afternoon it was!

With delicious homemade cakes from our amazing kitchen team, fun games, great conversations and some fantastic prizes, it was enjoyed by everyone!

Don’t miss our next Community Café on Thursday 15th May, 2pm – 4pm. It’s a free event open to everyone, and we’d love to welcome you.
